FOUNDER

Kristine Smith, founder of Kristine Smith Design Studio, has a career that spans over 25 years in hospitality design.  Prior to forming KSDS over 20 years ago, she worked with Hirsch-Bedner & Associates in Santa Monica and Dale Keller & Associates in San Francisco.

HOSPITALITY DESIGN EXPERIENCE

Kristine has designed for several Hyatt properties, the San Diego Princess Resort (now Paradise Point Resort), the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club and the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.  She has served as the Principle Designer for Evans Hotels, owners of The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa and the Bahia Resort Hotel, for over 20 years. In recent years, her firm completed the interior design for The Lodge at Torrey Pines Resort and Spa in La Jolla, a five year project which has received international acclaim and numerous awards. 

Also to her credit is The Catamaran Spa at The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, a 9,000 square foot full service spa, salon and fitness center, along with several projects for Walt Disney Imagineering in Anaheim, California.  The Disney projects include the expansion of the Grand Californian Hotel (time share units and guest rooms), renovation of the existing guest rooms, VIP Suites and Concierge Lounge.  Followed by the renovation of the 1,000 room Disneyland Hotel as well as two themed VIP Suites and Lobby spaces. She has also worked on numerous senior living facilities.
