Kristine Smith, founder of Kristine Smith Design Studio, has a career that spans over 25 years in hospitality design. Prior to forming Kristine Smith Design Studio over 18 years ago, she worked with Hirsch-Bedner in Santa Monica and Dale Keller & Associates in San Francisco.

Her project list includes hotels in Kapalua, Maui, Chosin Beach, Korea as well as numerous domestic locations. She has designed for several Hyatt properties, the San Diego Princess Resort, the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club and the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. In 2002, her firm completed the interior design for The Lodge at Torrey Pines Resort and Spa in La Jolla, a five year project which has received international recognition and numerous awards. Also to her credit is The Catamaran Spa at The Catamaran Resort Hotel, a 9000 square foot full service spa and salon along with several projects for Walt Disney Imagineering in Anaheim, California. The Disney projects include the expansion of the Grand Californian Hotel (time share units and guest rooms), renovation of the existing guest rooms, VIP Suites and Concierge Lounge. Recently completed is the renovation of the 1000 room Disneyland Hotel as well as two themed VIP Suites and Lobby spaces.

Current projects include a complete renovation of guest rooms at the Bahia Hotel, public area enhancements at the Catamaran Resort both located on Mission Bay in San Diego. Also on the boards are guest room and suite renovations at El Cordova Hotel and the Glorietta Bay Inn both on Coronado, as well as numerous projects for Welk Resorts.
